Drivers

Our school is committed to ensuring student safety. All drivers who are volunteering to drive any child other than their own are required to complete a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and a Driver's Record.

  1. Complete our School District's Volunteer Driver Form and provide a copy of your Driver's License and current Insurance, as has always been the practice.
  2. Obtain your Driver's Record. Phone ICBC at 1-888-715-7775 and follow the prompts to request your Driver's Record. Or visit the Your Driving Record page on icbc.com. You can request that ICBC fax and email it directly to Torquay Elmentary on your behalf. Our fax number is (250) 477-5412; our email address is [email protected]
  3. Apply online for a Criminal Record Check from justice.gov.bc.ca. Use our school's access code: M3B66F2H85.  Your CRC will be sent directly to the school. Criminal Record Check applicants who do not have a credit history of at least six months or have not been living in Canada for at least two years will need to get a Volunteer Driver Letter from the school office and take it to your municipal police department.

The Criminal Record Program verifies identities through an Electronic Identity Verification (EIV) process. It is important to know that the Criminal Records Review Program is not running a credit report; it is only using the EIV to verify the applicant's identity and to make sure the personal information contained in the CRC form is accurate. No information in this process is retained or stored by the Criminal Record Check Program.

Classroom Volunteers

Thanks for your willingness to volunteer in your child's class, in the library or for extra-curricular activities.  All volunteers at Torquay Elementary School must complete School Volunteer Information form and return it to the school.
